HURY LODGE
is a self catering holiday cottage
in the heart of Baldersdale, Teesdale, County Durham. The cottage can accommodate four guests.
Hury Lodge has fantastic views over Hury reservoir, Goldsborough Carr and the surrounding hills. There’s plenty to do in the surrounding area – you can fish on Hury or Grassholme reservoirs, there are
plenty of local walks from the cottage, you can star gaze direct from the cottage lawn, or at the nearby Grassholme observatory
in Lunedale, a 10 minute drive from the cottage. Alternatively
in spring you can sit in the porch and watch the lambs gallop around the fields surrounding the cottage, or watch the pheasants
or the rabbits playing. There are plenty of birds to spot here
in Baldersdale – in addition to the regular garden birds there are plenty of others that visit the reservoir –
curlews, oystercatchers, swans, geese, the odd cormorant and flocks of seagulls that roost in the dale each evening.
The cottage is central heated by a wood pellet biomass
boiler. Water is supplied from a nearby spring. Pets are welcome
on request. The property is non-smoking.
Kitchen/Diner: A dining table seating four overlooking the large feature-arched window with views of the reservoir.
Living Room: Comfortable sofas, TV, DVD player and an electric stove. Double Bedroom: Comfortable double bed, with a wardrobe, a set of drawers and mirror. Note access to the double room is
through a low door. There is a stable door in the room which can be opened to give views over the reservoir on a warm
day. Twin Bedroom: Bathroom with cast iron bath and over bath power shower. Sun Porch with chairs. Parking is available for two cars and there is a south facing lawned garden and gravelled
